Río Piedras. San Pedro Sula, Honduras. 642 m2
Soft light, bamboo screens.
Color reveals the way, then quietly disappears.
The social areas of this apartment building in San Pedro Sula are conceived as a sequence of calm, intuitive spaces. Rather than relying on signage, orientation is guided through atmosphere (light, material, and color).
A soft, restrained palette defines the interiors, remaining deliberately neutral until moments of transition. Subtle color is revealed through bamboo slat screens, appearing gradually as residents move through the building and gently dissolving once direction is understood. In this way, color becomes both guide and backdrop, present only when needed.
Warm woods, filtered light, and layered textures create a serene communal environment where movement feels natural, spaces unfold quietly, and wayfinding becomes an almost unconscious experience.
