Desert Mountain. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 1.100 m2

They asked for a house on top of the arid, desert mountain, to overlook their horse pen. We gave them a rural penthouse.

This unbuilt residential project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was conceived as a second home within a horse ranch, set high on a mountain overlooking the valley. From the outset, it became clear that what we were designing was not a house in the landscape, but a luxury penthouse anchored to it.

All service functions—parking, machinery, storage, and support spaces—are embedded at ground level. Above them, a pair of raised concrete platforms lift the living quarters into the air, creating a suspended realm for daily life. From this elevated plane, the house opens fully to the horizon, transforming the act of living into an experience defined by height, distance, and view.
